To help enlighten this situation by gathering our friends and families together, La Soleille had decided to throw our very first Annual Autumn party. Lake Cruise Most cities here in Switzerland have amazing lakes and mountain views. Neuchatel, without any doubt, shares the same features of that. Neuchatel is a historical city that shares the same features as a modern city. While visiting Neuchatel, you need to hop on a boat and view Neuchatel from the lake. We had sourced out different lake cruises for you to participate in. Cruising on a yacht around the iconic Lake in Neuchatel, you will understand and feel the presence of Mother Nature. The lake breeze is blowing through your hair while you are speechless with the remarkable view of Neuchatel. Local Swiss Fondue There is a saying here in Switzerland; you never came to Switzerland unless you had tried Swiss fondue. Swiss Fondue was founded in 1699, and it was introduced as Switzerlands national dish ever since the 1930’s. Swiss Fondue is made up of Swiss cheese and Swiss white wine. Once the Swiss Fondue starts boiling, you know its ready for you to dip in your freshly baked bread into the tasty Swiss fondue. Each region in Switzerland has different variants of making the Swiss fondue, but it does not affect the genuine tradition and taste of the Swiss fondue. The dry limestone soils of the hillsides are derived from glacial moraines and rest on beds of sand and gravel, allowing the vines to take deep root. They are particularly suitable for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which have found a preferred terroir here. Absinthe is an anise-flavoured spirit derived from plants, including the flowers and leaves of Artemisia absinthium ("grand wormwood"), together with green anise, sweet fennel, and other medicinal and culinary herbs. Absinthe originated in the canton of Neuchâtel in Switzerland in the late 18th century. It rapidly rose to success in the 19th century Paris. An artists’ beverage par excellence, it inspired numerous poets who praised it extensively in their works. The spirit attained a legendary status before it was prohibited in Switzerland in 1910, accused of making its consumers go crazy. However, its secret production never ceased during the period of prohibition, which ended in 2005. You can order a glass of Absinthe in most bars and restaurant of the region. Typical Food Swiss cuisine combines influences from the German, French and North Italian cuisine. However, it varies greatly from region to region with the language divisions constituting a rough boundary outline. Mind you, many dishes have crossed the local borders and become firm favouritesthroughout Switzerland. Cheese Fondue Melted cheese with bread cubes.
