Advisory Board – Dr. Meng RUI
Introduction
Dr. Meng RUI is Chinese and holds a Master of Science in Economics from Oklahoma State University (United States), an MBA in Statistics, and a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Houston (United States). He is also a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) and Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
Not only Dr. Rui currently works as a professor of Finance and Accounting at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) but he also holds strategic positions at their Centre for Wealth Management and Centre for Family Heritage.
Dr. Rui is also a member of multiple finance associations and holds directorships for several listed companies in China. Because of his expertise in finance and wealth management, he was invited to conduct in-house training for Chinese companies, including China Mobile, China Construction Bank, Ericsson, and China Gas.
China Europe International Business School (CEIBS)
CEIBS was co-founded by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) in 1994, with campuses in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Accra in Ghana, and Zurich in Switzerland. CEIBS was the first Chinese mainland business school accredited by EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) and AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). For six years, CEIBS has been placed among the top-ranking global MBA programs by the Financial Times and has ranked top 5 in its global EMBA list for four years, thanks to the efforts of outstanding professors of CEIBS like Dr. Rui.
Teaching Career & Awards
Before joining CEIBS, Dr. Rui had very extensive teaching experience as a professor at several top-ranking universities, including Tsinghua University (Beijing, China), the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Hong Kong Polytechnic University, teaching undergraduate and graduate students. He has received several faculty teaching and research excellence awards for his achievements in teaching and research. Moreover, he has published more than 70 papers in world acclaimed journals in economics, finance, accounting, and management during his teaching, and has been invited to give his insightful views on different economics and finance topics by international media such as the Financial Times, New York Times, Economist, Le Monde, etc.
